I am an individual and I have an invention I am working on. The component I wish to have created is an integral part of that invention as all other components will be designed around it.
My task is for someone who works with CAD (3D) software.
I will be using a public facility to print the desired object, which will be created with PLA. They have stated they need a weblink from which to download a file or I can supply them with either a .stl or .obj file.
The design is of a 2-tiered, solid cylindrical object approx. 110mm in diameter and about 30 mm long. Exact specifications will be provided.
This object is a template to fit flush into an already-existing cylinder where it will eventually be glued into place. When the template is satisfactory (size, fit etc), I will then be wanting a mold created to be able to produce this object in larger quantities. As I haven’t done a project like this before, I’ll be looking for input and advice from the contractor around the design of the mold, which will ultimately be 3D fabricated from steel. A contractor with experience in this 2-stage process (making a model, then a mold) would be preferred.
With all that in mind, it may be advisable to quote on the two parts separately.
